Uparkot Fort, believed to date to the 4th century BCE, sits atop a rock plateau in Junagadh and encloses Buddhist caves, the deep Adi-Kadi Vav stepwell and a Jama Masjid built from an earlier palace. Its weathered stone, caves and layered history give photographers a wide variety of textures and frames.
